Living the history
Five private luxury suites set in the remains of the fortification walls that Emperor Charles V of Habsburg built in the first half of the sixteenth century.
The centuries-old ramparts in lava stone of Catania – hence the name of the structure – are architectural protagonists in each of the rooms, intertwining with contemporary furnishings and luxury comforts such as the Jacuzzi®️ bath and the Hammam.
In the shadow of a secret place
The terrace of Bastiò is an elegant and secret parterre from which it is possible to admire the spectacle of the sky above Catania showing its most precious element: the treasure of Sant’Agata, the beloved patron and saint of
the city.
In few square meters, this intimate outdoor space offers the architectural sequence of the Diocesan Museum, the old bastion, the left nave, and the ancient transept of the Cathedral, until the gaze reaches the majestic dome.

The vital colours of the breakfast room represent the metaphor of the cultural vivacity of Bastiò, where all the spaces have been restored and enhanced with the precise desire not to alter the original environments: from the barrel vaults to the cement tiles, from the ancient structure of the bastions left visible to the comforting wooden furniture.
In the heart of the historical center
The actual Via Dusmet was once the entrance to Catania for those coming by sea. Travelers and pilgrims crossed the eighteenth-century Porta Uzeda to grasp after few meters the baroque splendour of Piazza Duomo.
